1. About Nexlyfe
Nexlyfe is a digital health interpretation platform operated by Nexlyfe ([PLACEHOLDER: registered company name and number]), incorporated in Uganda. We provide a marketplace connecting patients with UMDPC-verified doctors for remote interpretation of diagnostic device data.
By creating an account or using the Nexlyfe app, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Nexlyfe
- You must provide a valid Ugandan phone number for OTP verification
- Doctors must hold a valid UMDPC registration number and be approved by Nexlyfe admin before practising on the platform
- You must not use the platform for any unlawful purpose
3. The Nexlyfe Service
Nexlyfe provides:
- A platform for patients to upload diagnostic data (CGM readings, GI camera images, cardiac recordings)
- A marketplace of UMDPC-verified doctors who provide written clinical interpretations
- A secure escrow payment system — funds are held until the doctor delivers a report
- Encrypted storage of medical files and reports
Important: Nexlyfe is an interpretation platform, not an emergency medical service. Do not use Nexlyfe for medical emergencies. In an emergency, contact your nearest hospital or call [PLACEHOLDER: Uganda emergency number].
4. Medical Liability Disclaimer
Interpretations provided by doctors on Nexlyfe are professional medical opinions based on the data you upload. You acknowledge that:
- Nexlyfe is a technology platform — we are not a medical provider and do not practice medicine
- Doctors on Nexlyfe are independent practitioners, not employees of Nexlyfe
- Interpretations are based solely on the data you provide — incomplete or inaccurate data may affect the quality of the interpretation
- You should not make significant medical decisions based solely on a Nexlyfe interpretation without consulting your primary care provider
- Nexlyfe is not liable for clinical outcomes arising from interpretations delivered on the platform
- Doctors are individually liable for the medical opinions they provide, in accordance with UMDPC regulations
5. Payments and Escrow
- Payment is required before a doctor begins reviewing your case
- Funds are held in escrow by Nexlyfe and released to the doctor only upon delivery of a completed report
- If no report is delivered within 72 hours, a full refund is automatically issued to your mobile money account
- Nexlyfe retains a platform commission of [PLACEHOLDER: X%] on each transaction
- All payments are processed via Flutterwave. By making a payment you also agree to Flutterwave's terms of service
- Refunds are processed within 24 hours of becoming eligible
6. Doctor Obligations
By practising on Nexlyfe, doctors agree to:
- Maintain a valid and active UMDPC registration at all times
- Deliver a written clinical interpretation within 48 hours of accepting a consultation
- Meet the minimum report quality standard set by Nexlyfe
- Not share patient data outside of the Nexlyfe platform
- Disclose any conflict of interest before accepting a consultation
- Accept that Nexlyfe may suspend their account for poor performance, complaints, or UMDPC deregistration
7. Patient Obligations
- Provide accurate and complete health information
- Upload only data that belongs to you or for which you have legal authority
- Not attempt to misuse, reverse-engineer, or exploit the platform
- Not use Nexlyfe to seek a second opinion to contradict emergency medical advice
- Treat doctors on the platform with respect in all communications
8. Prohibited Use
You may not use Nexlyfe to:
- Upload data that does not belong to you
- Impersonate another person or medical professional
- Attempt to access another user's account or data
- Use the platform for any illegal purpose under Ugandan law
- Harass, threaten, or abuse any doctor or patient on the platform
9. Intellectual Property
All content, design, and software on the Nexlyfe platform is owned by Nexlyfe or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the platform without written permission. Doctor reports are the intellectual property of the issuing doctor, licensed to the patient for personal use only.
10. Suspension and Termination
Nexlyfe reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms, engages in fraudulent activity, or poses a risk to other users. In cases of termination, any escrowed funds will be refunded to the patient.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Uganda. Any disputes arising from use of the Nexlyfe platform shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Uganda.
12. Changes to These Terms
Nexlyfe may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via SMS or in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
